The Pitt Student Chapter of ASHE would like to invite companies to participate in its 2nd annual networking event!
Students will spend a short amount of time with each employer in the style of a speed dating event, having a genuine conversation with each. They are looking for 10-15 companies to be represented.
Participating companies are requested to make a donation to the student chapter of $50 to fund the event itself, as well as regular chapter activities throughout the year. Cash and checks are accepted and can be made out to “University of Pittsburgh ASHE.”

EVENT DETAILS:
The hope is to connect students with professionals in a personable manner, rather than forcing conversations in the stuffy, uncomfortable atmosphere of a job fair. The point is to remove the stress from the situation and create a first impression that isn’t made up of pandering, just a human conversation. Students will be encouraged to treat this as a networking event rather than a job fair.
Because of the nature of the event, representatives should be practicing engineers (rather than recruiters or HR reps) so that they may be able to answer as many questions about the field that students have. While conversations are free to be made up of any topic that connects the student and professional, students will also be encouraged to ask questions about:
- The transition from being a student to being a working professional
- Grad school or the FE/PE exams
- Alumni relations (if applicable)
The event will be in conjunction with the Pitt ASCE and ITE student chapters.
